So here is Wayne again to share his continuing journey with us:
As we left our struggling hero last time, there was trouble in paradise. After a bit of problems getting the site off the ground, I finally had a great looking WordPress theme and I was starting to fill it in. Now to put in a podcast.

According to Mac Rumors we may see 4 new iPod Shuffles soon in different colours, or maybe just new software. AppleInsider go with the new iPod angle as well, but more an expansion of the RED range.
Apple Rumors on the other hand are going with new monitors with built in iSight, or a price drop. In addition they speculate about a release of Leapord to take the wind out of Vista. I can’t see that happening, but it would be pretty cool.

5 Reasons Mac Will Overtake Windows in the Home by 2012 is a well constructed article which shows the different ways in which we now use our computers in the home, and consequently why the Mac is now positioned better.
These Free Online Photography Courses are interesting and informative, and a really good idea.

A very pleasant start to the day, which rapidly went down hill!!
The The HM-1 from Kel Microphone arrived this morning as did the Alesis MultiMix8USB which was very exciting!
Unfortunately I hadn’t realised that the Microphone didn’t come with the necessary XLR Cable so I can’t connect the Microphone. At the same time I realised that I hadn’t got a 1/4 converter for my headphones so they weren’t going to work either. Now you have to remember that where I live in Spain just running out to a Audio store isn’t an option. They exist but about 300 miles away!

I was actually really surprised when I read this article, Apple brand is world leader.
Back in “my day” Coke, Nike, Disney etc used to top the polls like this. I am not surprised by Google as that really is a brand that crosses many boundaries, but if I can be somewhat narrow for a moment – I doubt many people here in Spain would recognise Apple or Starbucks. They would ‘know’ about them sure, but as neither exist other than in a a couple of the largest cities here, it would be tough to see how they would come top over here.

For those of you that listen to my segment over on Surfbits with Tim, you will know that last week I discussed my ‘theory’ that Apple would move towards three major events for announcing Consumer, Software and Hardware products throughout the year, supplemented with smaller ad hoc events throughout the year. My view is that as a ‘Consumer’ orientated organisation (post dropping the ‘Computers’ name) they needed to pick up the pace of announcements and determine a new pattern to reflect the change.

When I first heard that Apple were going down the Intel route and that Windows would theoretically be accessible on a Mac I couldn’t really see why that would appeal to me. When Bootcamp was introduced I had no desire at all. My views was (and is) that if I have to actually boot into a different operating system I may as well have a Windows PC and use that.

This is a pretty neat story – well it is for me living here in Spain. I used to work in Barcelona and was continually confused by the extremely strong ‘Catalan isn’t Spain’ views, language and culture.
