I received this Press Release the other day and have been a little tardy in posting about it, so I am just going to paste the whole thing in:

London, UK, 27 February 2007 – Miglia Technology, a leading manufacturer of digital media products, today announced its dedicated Apple Mac OS X based software for the Sony LocationFree™ Base Station.

toast8.jpgThis isn’t a review as such! Tim recently did a good job of reviewing Toast 8.

I just wanted to share with you that I have installed it and within 5 minutes had burnt a DVD-R from eyeTV of Walk The Line, and it plays on both of my DVD players! Impressed or what??!! Sure the screen size of the recording is pretty small but I am sure that if I go back and look at the preferences or something their will be an option to sort that out.

After a week off to visit Salem, MA and set up his new 24″ iMac (you seen his pictures?) Wayne is back with more news on his ventures:

As with any hobby, especially something new and exciting, it’s quite easy to dump a lot of money into it and jump in, full steam ahead. Unfortunately, the newness does wear off, and if you aren’t one hundred percent committed, it can become a chore. That is why if you want to create a podcast or create a new blog or website, it really has to be something you want to do. If not, you podfade, or…blogfade(?).

It is just under two months since I first reviewed the application Disco ($14.95), from the developers of AppZapper header.jpg

At the time I loved it. My only (very small complaint) was that the innovative ’smoke’ feature didn’t work on the Mac mini. Well the great news is that it does now! But, and it turns out it is a pretty big but, that isn’t all that they have changed* In fact although it is undoubtedly cool, smoke is really just a bit of fun, a very innovative piece of interface work that sets the scene perfectly for the rest of Disco.

Although I will soon be moving up to a DSLR I will still keep my Sony DSC T7 and in all probability my DSC F707, so I am always going to be interested in any new Cybershots from Sony. I have always preferred them to the Nikon Coolpix, although I am taking a closer interest in Nikon these days! Their P5000 looks interesting. This review of the D40 got me thinking.

Moving away from Cameras these tips on how to shoot better B&W pictures really interested me.

Leopard Set For March is a pretty obvious headline, and would be great news. Predictions also include iWorks 07 (which I don’t use) and iLife 07 which I use all the time. I would buy iLife 07 straight away, but wait 3 months or so on Leopard.

Mac or PC? isn’t exactly a new debate, but this article looks at it from a business perspective, and stays away from the ‘iconic worship’ that many similar articles adopt.

Many thanks to everybody that has been in touch since last week. Narrowly it would seem that the majority advise focussing on the lens (or should I say the ‘glass’!)

The fundamental rational seems to be that initially I wont use the more advanced features of the camera body, and in all probability I will upgrade it in a year or so, but that a really high quality lens will not only significantly improve my initial efforts, but it will live with me through any future body upgrades.

I got this from Darren (aka wingnut):

Can’t wait until June in the US or the Q4 in UK. You don’t have to!

It’s here… well the ringtone is. As used by SJ in the keynote all those weeks back. I only recently picked this story up off a podcast (MacBreak Weekly). If you see the link on Digg it’s been in discussion for quite some time. I actually quite like the tone and yes I have downloaded it and installed it on my Samsung.

I came across jpgmag through Steve Wozniak, ah the joys of Twitter! (As an aside he has just posted that he has cancelled his AppleTV order!)

“JPG Magazine is for people who love imagemaking without attitude. It’s about the kind of photography you get when you love the moment more than the camera. It’s for photographers who have found themselves online, sharing their work, and would like to see that work in print.”

SuperDuper at $27.95 is a really great ‘piece of mind’ product. SuperDuper-Header.jpg

I am a self confessed BackUp junkie, so I have a tendency to try pretty much every option that is around, but the one that I keep coming back to and find the easiest to use is SuperDuper. Specifically I like the ease with which it only backs up new files. I have had issues in the past with other application that have required you to delete the existing back up before doing a new one.
