Two months in and I think things are going ok! I have been running 10km all month and I think the week off helped my legs. I must admit though that the way I feel at the end of 10km is somewhat worrying in terms of doing another 10. I keep trying to imagine turning round and doing it again and it is not a pleasant thought at all.
I now have to see what 15km feels like this week. I also need to establish the pattern that I want to adopt throughout the month in terms of a daily schedule.

As far as my own iPhone goes I have to say that this does nothing but make me smile as I have no option other than to stay on the original firmware, so I get to test out all these third party apps if I want to!
And another thing ……… did you see the amount of idiots that ignored all the advice and went ahead and upgraded anyway!!! On the basis that a number of regular phones have had issues with the upgrade it just proves once again that you are better off waiting!

Export videos & photos to FTP, databases, or documents from iPhoto, Aperture and Windows
Reviewing an application like PhotoUpLink is on the one hand really easy and on the other really hard.
Hard? Well it doesn’t do much that is really visible. It quietly gets on with its job and does it really well.

During the Apple Expo in Paris each year, MacGeneration gives awards to the best products available on the OS X platform. In some ways ‘just another list’ but there are some interesting ones that I am sure will generate much debate. It was good to see Skitch achieve a ’special award’, but for the life of me I don’t see how the iPod Touch can be the best Apple product when it has only been out less than a month, initial ones had screen problems, and it doesn’t do as much as it was hyped to do!

Well as I write this the iPhone is ‘in the post’ and should be here within the week. I will document the unlocking process along with my initial thoughts when I have had a chance to play with it. For now it is a case of putting the one (irrational) fear to one side – that although it is unlocked and Movistar in Spain is on the list of countries that it will work, for some reason it wont work for me – and to speculate on what it will be like when it arrives.

Update: the iPhone is unlocked! There were a couple of minor issues relating to unclear instructions and an omitted bit of detail but all sorted. At the moment the iPhone is recognising the new SIM card but saying no service which could be either the lack of reception in its current state or the fact that for some totally weird reason AT&T pre paid cards need to be matched to the IMEI number of the phone and it is taking a couple of hours to get through the system.

Keynote Animations costs $45 and is a fun and easy way to add “the magic motion to your presentations and set the mood.”
To be honest I have very little need for Keynote. In fact iWorks 08 is the first time that I have ever looked at it, and that is only because there is a vague chance I may need to create some presentations within the next 12 months.

This could easily be entitled “Holding My Nerve!”
The following appeared in the New York Times courtesy of the Associated Press:
”This has nothing to do with proactively disabling a phone that is unlocked or hacked,” Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, said in an interview. ”It’s unfortunate that some of these programs have caused damage to the iPhone software, but Apple cannot be responsible for … those consequences.”

I received an email from David Day who listens to the MacReviewCast and had picked up on the iPhone debate some time ago.
It looks like my logic struck a cord with him as over the weekend he purchased a iPhone off eBay in the UK and has unlocked it to work with his existing Vodaphone contract. David has recommended this site for some every clear instructions on unlocking the iPhone. In addition he passed on a few tips:
