Reading the Olive Press site, hard not to be drawn to this headline!
Appears that professionals have (one again) revealed that red wine is ‘healthier’ than beer due to the beneficial powers of polyphenols in wine that (in small doses) can contribute to a healthy heart. Seems that beer has hardly any while red wine contains more polyphenols than white wine, making it the healthier choice of the two.
Depends on how much I guess! I suspect that the majority of people (i.e. not me) are in the couple glasses of red, or half a dozen beers category?!
Unfortunately I tend to drink wine like beer: fast and in large quantities and I have yet to come away from a ‘session’ feeling remotely healthier!
