Save lions and bears from starvation in Armenian zoo

Three lions, two bears and two guinea pigs have been abandoned to a grim fate in a closed Armenian zoo. They are surviving on starvation rations, and are shut up in tiny, bare cages.

Please sign this petition to demand that the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, takes action to find these animals appropriate homes and end this cruelty.

Banging their heads against the wall in despair and peering forlornly through the bars of their tiny, stark cages, these are the inmates of “the world’s saddest zoo”. These poor abandoned animals live out their boring, hunger-filled days in tiny cages, displaying all the signs of creatures slowly being driven mad by their unnatural existence.

The animals currently rely on the kindness of a local elderly couple. But the couple have to scavenge for the food they provide, and they cannot meet the needs of the animals. Now the Armenian government needs to step in and find places for these abandoned animals.

If enough people sign, the Armenian government will have to recognize the plight of these animals and find them new homes that provide the space, stimulation and food they need.
