Beaked whales are giants of the ocean and deep divers. They don’t seem vulnerable, but against the U.S. Navy’s sonar, they are. Ask the U.S. Navy not to kill whales in the name of war games and weapons testing.
The Navy’s sonar disrupts beaked whales’ ability to dive, causing brain hemorrhages. The whales end up beached onshore, where they die in agony with physical signs of distress from sonar blasting. Some scientists believe these beached whales represent only a fraction of the whales that sonar kills.
The painful death of innocent whale bystanders is too high a price for sonar testing. Send a message to the Navy: Stop killing whales with sonar blasts!
