Ultrasn0w iPhone 3G unlock for 3.0 is 0ut & Working!

23 June 2009 30 views One Comment

The iPhone Dev-Team’s Ultrasn0w unlock for legacy iPhone 3G owners is ready. The unlock works with the original iPhone as well but not the iPhone 3GS; for that you’ll have to be patient.

Read this over on Engadget and headed straight to the iPhone, even though I really don’t need to have it unlocked!

  1. Make sure you have upgraded your iPhone to 3.0
  2. Jailbreak your iPhone with either Pwnage Tool (which is what I did) or redsn0w
  3. Run Cydia or Icy (I am a Cydia guy mainy)
  4. Add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or icy (see below for Cydia instructions)
  5. Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
  6. Reboot your iPhone 3G

T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w

Adding a repo to Cydia

  1. Open Cydia on the iPhone
  2. Tap on the Manage tab
  3. Select Sources
  4. Top right of screen is a Edit button, tap it
  5. Top left of screen is a Add button, tap it
  6. Type in the URL details and Add Source

Let me know how you get on and in which countries it works for you.
