Winter has Arrived

This is about as close as we get to winter here in Almerimar, the snow on the mountains way to the right of us. The impact is pretty significanty though, as when the wind blows in off the mountains it can pretty cold – at least sweater time!!!!

This the first proper picture that I have taken with the 135-400mm lens that I have really benefited from. The mountains are a long way away, and to get this close with so much clarity is pretty impressive.

So winter is here then, which means Moreno is now in winter mode, i.e. less time up on the roof, and we tend to have a heater on in the evening when we are all sat on the sofas watching TV. When you are in the sun it is warm enough to sunbath still during the middle of the day, but the mornings, evenings and when you are out of the sun is a little chilly.

A question. Do you prefer the photograph to be above or below the split i.e. do you prefer to see it on the front page or within the post?

UPDATE – I have moved it below the the split as I personally prefer the neatness of the site that way 🙂

This is a very strange picture. At first blush I thought the black hill in the middle was a lake. There is no clear definition between the foreground and background hill. Sorry Chris, but I don’t like this one 🙁

No problem – it was the fact that there were such distinct colours all at the same level/place that intrigued me 🙂

More often than not, I arrive at your site from NetNewsWire Lite, so I don’t often see the front page. Having said that, an image located above the split does show up in NNW. It doesn’t bother me too much seeing the images in NNW.

I rarely wait for the image to load to make my decision to visit a page. In the case of sites like yours, I’m inclined to visit each new post regardless of any eye candy that might show up in NNW, so images are not required to draw me in.

    Kind words sir 🙂

I prefer the pictures below the split personally as I like the clean lines and conformity of the blog when you just get the text?
