Apple’s Leopard to boost Photoshop performance

I don’t have CS2 but I want CS3 (more and more each day it seems) so I can’t comment on the validity of this “problem”, but the solution sounds pretty exciting.

“Apple Inc. and Adobe Systems Inc. are reportedly working behind the scenes to improve the performance of Adobe’s Photoshop under Apple’s next-generation Leopard operating system.”

How come? Curious as to what you would like to do in CS3? Is it Photoshop, or In Design…I’m assuming PS. Would it be a complement to Lightroom or a replacement?

    Photoshop to edit/enhance.

In my view Lightroom is all about ‘managing’ the photographs, batching tagging them, selecting which you want to keep, discard, edit. Itthen allows you to do some batch improvements on these before moving to the next stage which would be really working in detail via Photoshop on a specific picture.

With the stuff I took for the restaurant on Saturday I used Lightroom to show all the pictures I took, then show the ones that I thought were best on a ‘contact sheet’, then show some examples that had been enhanced a little.

    So to complement for sure.
