Although I haven’t written much about it recently, I am training again (well sort of!) I ran 4 times last week and have been for a run today. I am doing some light weights and pilates stuff at least 3 times a week. It is all very low key at the moment and I am not even thinking of weighing myself yet as I just want to get into some sort of good habits and patterns across a number of areas before I start getting all serious and focussed about it all.
Since I have been back from my last trip to Dubai all sprts of things have been going on – all good, but all need to settle down before I really know the impact of them all.

Good to hear your getting back into it. I’ve lapsed big time due to 2 illnesses in a row – first stomach and now flu. On top of flu i have major inspection in school this week so all evenings been preparing for that.
However, careful eating has managed to maintain 207lbs and half term a week away with a lot of garden work to do ripping out serious Ivy over-growth plus kayaking/running will hopeful kick start things.
Keep up with the good work, and stay off the scales – they are an instrument of the devil 🙂
Half term, so chance to get back to training. Up early and saw a lovely sunrise so ran along the shore path along the side of the solent. 4 miles. Golden sun on water, sail boats heading out – only thing that stopped me believing I was in the med was the frost on the floor and the fact I lost all sensation in my fingers!
That made me smile!
Good on you. I ran at the start of the week, got sick, got steadily worse and have ended up doing naff all again this week!
No run today, but took a rare day off from DIY/School/looking after my little one and went paddling. Did a 10 mile trip from Calshot spit, west along the coast in glorious sunshine, nice swell and freezing water! If I thought my fingers were numb running on Monday! Can certainly feel my arms and shoulders now!
Sounds great. I need to find a sport/pastime that requires me to be fit, rather than just running for the sake of it.
That said I am considering a Marathon this year for some really bizarre reason that as yet I can’t figure out. It just sort of slipped out in conversation and seems to be gathering momentum.
It would certainly provide some focus, and maybe even some content for the blog?
Go steady if you do! I got up to the 20 mile sunday runs having got a place in the London Marathon but pushed the distances too fast and trashed my knee in the process 🙁
Was laid off from running for a good 9 months.
Still dream of doing it though. Maybe one day.
One thing I don’t have to worry about is my knees (or knee) after 5 Ops my left one is pretty much trashed anyway 🙂
Maybe we could try and do one together in October (have a feeling that I should get it done before Mac comes over!!)
Am not bothered about it been a ‘big name’ event as such, just doing it for myself really.
