Dry January: 33rd Year

Here we go again, another ‘Dry January“, the 33rd in a row, but the first following our move back in the UK for 20 years – last time I did a dry January in UK I stayed dry for two years!

When we moved back to the UK we very much had an initial twelve months plan, based not surprisingly around 4 quarters of 3 months!

So this January not only am I dry, but it is also the start of our last 3 months as we build up to a year back in the UK.

Significance of that is that the last quarter was always planned to be a very quiet one so we could take stock of what we do (and don’t) want to carry forward into future years. Will also give us time to address the results or so much more socialising and activities that we were used to it Spain i.e. shift some weight and get fit!

Not sure, but am tempted to do three months off the booze, combined with a very active (gym and dog walking) three months, and other than that a pretty much hermit like period ….. my usual state really!

We have very little planned: one theatre trip, Fathers Birthday, Manchester United Games, and fortnightly pet transports helping the Romanian guys.

Hopefully it stays that way as the first nine (9) months in the UK have been excellent, just as we planned and hoped, but we need to slow down for a while, take stock of what we going to do in the Future (think semi retirement for me with the transports and Marshall Innovations enough to be going on with). Sands wants to look at helping rehome cats into the UK (hence I may go back to doing some transports from Spain) and we think parents are going to need more of our time as the year progresses.
