214 lbs

Sunday morning isn’t necessarily the best or usual time to weigh yourself, but as I am probably going to watch the rugby later (which = food and drink a lot!) I thought I would see how things were going. Looks like I have lost 2.5 lbs which is good news, and feels about right.

Am (slowly) starting to feel a bit better now that I have started exercising and watching what I eat. Hopefully I can have a really good week (this afternoon excluded) and it would be great to be around the 211 mark this time next week.

Here we go then. I actually spent very little time after the rugby so was back after 3 beers and some bread and meats, so pretty good. Sands and I shared a bottle of wine (which means I let her have a glass) and a few chocolates last night as she had done the Xmas decorations so we sort of ‘started’ Xmas. That is it for me though for the week – although there is a chance someone may be coming to stay for a night later in the week!

I hope you are tall! That is a lot of timber. I had to use Dashboard for the second time in my life to convert lbs into something I could relate to, ie Kilos or Stones/pounds. Mind you, I was impressed with your half marathon time of under 1hr 23. Did I read that correctly??

I am 6ft 4″ so it isn’t too bad. Based on BMI I should be 199lbs to be at the very top of the OK range, but beinmg tall I hide the extra weight pretty well.

Afraid you read that time wrong – it was 2 hours 20 mins 🙂

I ran again yesterday and have stayed away from Crunch Bars and Bread and am on a pretty healthy vegetarian diet at the moment. To be fair we eat really healthy stuff all the time, just too much of it in my case with the odd ‘binge’ thrown in.

I am starting to feel better – the body is starting to feel like it is working again so the sluggish feeling is dissapearing (slowly)

Ran yesterday – for some reason it felt really tough. Calves sore, but think that just through use not water retention problem.

Going to take the day off today. Have run for the last three days so 3 days on 1 day off may be a good pattern to try.

Pretty pleased with the improved eating habits and am starting to feel a little fitter and that things are heading in the right direction.

I admire your discipline. I’m fortunate to have a very active lifestyle, in that my work is very physical, so I’ve always been fit. I play footy once a week too (at my age!) though not at the moment due to ankle ligament problems. I also like to cycle, weather permitting. I built myself a road bike at unmentionable cost (carbon fibre, titanium etc., you know what that means!) so I get out on it when I can. The good thing about cycling is that it is kinder on the joints, though it is so important to take something to eat as getting the ‘knock’ when still far from home is not a thing I’d recommend.

That is part of my problem. Working from home and sat in front of the Mac all day I get very little exercise ‘naturally’.

I try and walk to the Marina whenever I can, or Mountain Bike, and I would love to find someone to play tennis with.

I lapsed a bit yesterday – got involved in a bit of a drink, and then had take out chicken and fries in the evening. Am struggling today – more as my cold/virus seems to have come back than anything else – v bad stomach so doubt will run today 🙁

I sympathize completely. When your not feeling well, comfort eating/drinking is hard to avoid. In fact it is hard to avoid at the best of times. I cave in often though this week I made an effort and avoided the urge twice this week!! That is not to speak of the other times 🙁

Funnily I have hardly eaten anything to do. I had a couple of pieces of toast mid morning, and then some fruit and ryvita with cheese early afternoon.

Going to have some comfort food tonight though – and watch out for a post related to this in the near future!
