Apologies

Things have been pretty slow on the old blg front recently I am afraid. I actually had good intentions of doing some reviews and stuff that I have lined up while I was over here but to say that thngs have got busy would be an understatement!

Yesterday was the first time we got to a grocery store to buy any food and cook it in the apartment (I have moved out of my friends apt and staying with a work colleague in another friends apartment on the Palm so that we can get more work done). I have yet to even get close to a store for any shopping and have not had a night out with the boys yet at all.

As I have been here for 8 days already you can figure how busy that is. I am meant to be flying back on Thursday, but yesterday there was talk of staying out longer …………..

Amyway with luck I will get some stuff posted before I go back, otherwise I will have to catch up when I get back.

Chris you poor bloke you only get to work for a few days every once in a while. I have that delight 5 days a week but I won’t rub it in! 🙂

I suppose you’ll just have to lie back and think of those consultancy fees. Think of it as a means to several exotic lenses!

Start with a brace of fast primes. 50 & 85 mm both f1.4, then a 28mm probably f2.8. Believe me, though zooms are flexible, once you can see the results of top quality fixed focal length lenses, I think you’ll not look back

Well that would sure ease the pain 🙂

Thanks for the lens selection. Will check those out. Is 4.45am here so really need some sleep!

Totally agree with Jeremy. Although on the other hand there would be a lot more swapping, or a lot more photo-shoot planning on your part. I’m starting to notice the quality of lenses myself. For example my canon 75-300 USM lens that I initially got with my XTi, is really a piece of garbage. Really soft focus, blurry…. but the again you get what you pay for.

May just have to check out Duty Free on the way back then, and will look for your 90 degree vuew finder 🙂

Thanks Chris. I just have a feeling that you might not find one. They are not your typical off the store shelf item. At least not here…. then again look where I live. 🙂

Your feeling was correct 🙁 Didn’t get any lenses either although they had some so I need to figure out the price I would pay, then check them out next trip.

Good and fast lens are not cheap. Found that you should wait a bit and spend a bit more to get the better lens than cheap out. You will notice your cheapness in the pictures. I vow…. no more cheap lens.

As you have a Nikon, you need not settle for Nikon lenses, These are the world’s best! There is a compatibility chart there too. The only thing to take into account is whether or not the focal lengths are correct for the sensor on your dslr. If it is a full frame sensor, they should be the same as for a film camera.

I know they cost the earth, but you’ll not regret it if you do go down that route

They look great. I may not regret buying them, but I may regret the subsequent divorce 🙂

We need to get a photo trip sorted out ………

That is a good point well made Chris. Maybe you can do some busking or windscreen washing on the side to help you save up. 🙂
