Lots of debate at the moment regarding an exit strategy from the Social Distancing guidelines which seems a tad premature to me as a) we really don’t seem to have enough substantiated information about the virus and b) any exit strategy needs to include a re-entry strategy in the event that the virus returns.
Every organisation, industry, individual will no doubt present a strong case as to why they should be at the front of the queue, or in Stage One, but that just makes it harder.
For now, a month in, and with at least three more weeks of the current guidelines to go, I thought I would share my Post COVID-19 Bucket List.
- Meal With Parents: they have been brilliant so far but next week is my mothers 81st birthday and the week after out 28th wedding anniversary so top of my list is a long relaxing lunch at the Cottage with my parents, followed by our fortnightly Fish and Chip evening and our fortnightly Sunday Lunches.
- Long Walk With The Dogs: they have been great as well and have accepted a daily shorter walk, but I think we all looking forward to 2-3 hour morning walks on Cannock Chase and getting back to Formby Beach.
- BBQ with Friends: (weather permitting of course as at times I forget we back in UK). We have said that as soon as is safe and sensible we will have a community BBQ at the Cottage but after that I would like a summer of BBQ’s with friends.
- Spain: Sands was due to go in April and I have flights booked for June (which I am not expecting to use) but I am am looking forward to a week in the sunshine, visiting the old haunts and hanging out with old friends.
- Live Events: specifically sport (Manchester United, Warwickshire and Yorkshire Cricket, England Cricket) and concerts (we have had several re-arranged so far and expect more but we have tickets for Queen, The Who, Elbow, Simply Red, Katherine Jenkins, To Kill A Mockingbird (play) and Classic Ibiza). Hopefully we will get to see the ones planned later for the year, but the rest are now rescheduled for next year.
Keep Safe, Be Nice!
