Hollie has been with us just over three months now (we brought her into the Apartment on the 18th February), and her paw is still not sorted out. She is probably about 80% fixed now, but still has to wear a cone whenever she isn’t sat with us as she is prone to lick her wound (which is still open) and make it worse. She still wears a protective shoe when she is out walking, but during the day (and night) the wound is open and we only need to treat it with cream once a day and she gets it washed once a day with salt water on the beach and once a day with Betadine.
Her fitness has improved tremendously and she runs with the Galgos on the beach (where she is learning to like going in the sea) and on the Nature Reserve (where she is both a good explorer and a good digger of holes). When she is running you would be hard pushed to know that she had such a badly damaged paw!
She loves the roof and the sun, which is good for her paw and all in all we are really very pleased with her progress, and extremely pleased with how she has adapted to life here with our dogs and cats.
She very much feels at home so ……… [drum roll] ……. we have decided that we will make this her permanent home.
Reality is that he paw will probably never be 100% as she is having to grow skin where she never had skin so we think there will always be a need to keep an eye on it and protect her, and no doubt at times she will need more treatment and enforced rest, so we think that we would prefer to take responsibility for that.
Of course as she is part of the family she also has her own Hunter Lead, Dog Bed, Blanket and selection of dog shoes.

Has been added to the Our Dogs Page on this site.
Has her own Pod 3 GPS Tracker which I can’t recommend highly enough both as insurance in the event your dog (or cat) escapes and also for general interest as to how active (or not) they are and where they get to on their adventures.

Electric Scribble Tattoo have added her details added to Chris’s arms.
