I think it’s safe to assume that the days of the cold war are well and truly over. But if there ever was a time when World War 3 had the slightest chance of happening it was during Boris Yeltsin’s presidency. Let me explain why!
Sadly, Boris Yeltsin the ex-Russian President died yesterday. It’s no secret Boris liked a drink. Picture the scene if you can, Boris and friendskis out on a Friday night in Moscow. Boris has had far too many vodkas. Decides to takes his friendskis back to his place (a.k.a the Kremlin). Give them the behind the scenes tour, show them the big red button etc, etc. Boris stumbles in to the presidential office, trips over the cat and lands slap bang on top of the button…the rest is history.
Seriously it could of happened, but it didn’t. Maybe they haven’t got a cat. Actually I think Boris did most of drinking in public and not in private.
But wouldn’t it be be fun to take control of your own thermo nuclear arsenal and be a goodie (insert your country here) fighting the baddies (insert your country here).
Inspired by the cult 1983 movie War Games, yes I do remember it, just! Ambrosia Software and Introversion Software London-based developer have just released a Macintosh version of Defcon, a global thermonuclear war simulator.
So check it out, there is a demo available. If anyone of the MyAppleStuff staff fancies 2’s up to do more in-depth review let me know in the comments.
