Well there is one good thing that has come out of iPhone Friday (I wonder in years to come if it will become a public holiday) and that is the fact that the iTunes 7.3 upgrade that they have released today for it fixes the problem in 7.2 of sharing videos that I wrote about earlier in the week.
I immediately got this message when upgrading:
The iTunes Library cannot be saved. An unknown error has occurred (-50)
I didn’t have the video sharing problems, however. 🙁
Well it installed OK on my 4 Mac’s. But you are not alone – just checked on the apple support and a number of people got the same issue. No suggestions on reason though.
My non techy stab would be something to do with the volume of people trying to downlaod and maybe some file corruption taking place?
I received the same error message after upgrading. If you export your library to your desktop, close itunes, delete the library files (.itl and .xml) in itunes directory, launch itunes, then import your library from the file in the desktop – itunes works fine again
Thanks for that – good to know there is a fix, but a little complicated I guess!
I tried that. Didn’t work for me. Some are saying it has to do with video podcasts. I just went back to 7.2. I can wait for them to get it sorted. Not like I can get the iPhone anyway!
iTunes 7.3.1 fixed all!
