Browsing through the RSS feeds post lunch this is the one that caught my eye the most:
Nokia have just added Skype to their N800 internet tablet. This seems like a really smart move to me, as personally there is no way I would buy any new tablet, mini, handheld, smartphone call it what you want without that feature added. I am a huge user of Skype, SkypeIn and SkypeOut so to have it accessible via my ‘mobile of choice’ just makes sense to me!
Existing users can download the upgrade from the site.
If only the iPhone had that ability. Then again I would imagine the ATT would have a fit.
Well that is a good point – BUT shows how short sighted the cell/mobile companies are. The fact is that WiFi isn’t available everywhere, and sometimes it would be more expensive to get a hour on WiFi than use mobile/cell, but on the other hand when travelling it would cut down on roaming costs which in the long run would probably attract more people to the product.
If you treat people as mature individuals and give them a choice you get respect, and with respect comes loyalty, and with loyalty comes increased profits.
