NVIDIA GF 7300 GT GRAPHICS UPG KIT-INT

Have just ordered a second graphics card for the Mac Pro! Why? Well when I was last in the UK I hooked up the MBP to a 32″ Flat Screen TV at Miglia with a DVI cable and to be honest it was a great quality! Ask Tom and Danny as they were there as well. It was more than adequate for browser, chat, email etc.

That got me thinking ……..

Then when I was in Dubai I hooked the MBP up to another 32″ although this time only through VGA and it was ok.

So I figured that what I am going to do is keep the two 23″ ACD’s on my desk and then mount a 32″ flat screen on the wall behind them so that I can use it to have a TV window open (MigliaTV Rocks!!!), my Skype, Adium, iCht, Twhirl and email apps open. Basically use it as a communication screen leaving the two 23″ for the serious stuff (well I had to say that as that is how I ‘sold’ the idea to Sands!!)

It isn’t going to happen straight away as my parents are bringing the card back to the UK with them in May, then Sands will pick it up off them when she is over for a school reunion in May, then I have to think about getting the TV …… unless I pick up the TV while Sands is away so I can get it set up the day she comes back!!!!

Anyway will sort out pictures of the set up when it is up and running.

Tell Sands that it would be a great setup if you where ever to do any serious Final Cut Pro work. I’ve been working this entire week on editing a musical for our local high school. It would be nice to be able to hook it up to a monitor instead of the computer’s lcd to make sure colors look exact! (Man, this multi-clip editing is a pain! Especially when it’s with only one camera on two different nights!)

I look forward to seeing that project! Not sure I will get that advanced with my video stuff, but will bear the advice in mind 🙂

🙂 It has been probably the ultimate learning experience. Try taking a look at the quick video I posted on my gallery page. The one labeled Taylor in Fight. That’s like one minute of a two hour project! I’ll send you a DVD.
