A much debated topic within cricket and one which No Boundaries Cricket Club are seeking to help through their Cricket Kindness Project is the cost of playing cricket: specifically is it expensive because you need so much kit and equipment, or because the kit and equipment costs a lot.
I thought that I would get hold of some ‘entry level’ shoes, gloves, pads, clothing and a bag to do a mini series of reviews to see just how expensive junior kit and equipment is and what you get for your money.
Having reviewed the items they will be donated to Church Eaton Cricket Club to be used by their juniors.
My Review
RRP: £34.99 Available for £27.99
A bag is just a bag right ….. wrong!!! I have spent the last three (3) years swapping and changing my kit bag(s), but I do see many people who have had the same one for years so maybe that is just me!
Obviously you need to get a bag that holds all your equipment, and this one should do that unless you are as compulsive about kit as I am in which case “join me in the 2 bag club”, and you also have to be able to carry it, so the Shoulder Straps need to be comfortable and fit securely (another option is a wheelie bag but to be honest having dragged one through too many pot holed car packs and long treks across outfields I am not a fan!) and these felt good.
Again this seemed a very reasonable price for something that you need, will use a lot, and will take quite a lot of wear and tear as it’s thrown into boots or cars and dumped in changing rooms ….. but you can see how all the £30 are adding up!
