ScreenFlow Idea Portal

I recently got a request to take a look at a new ScreenFlow Idea Portal via an email:

I am a professional screencaster, devoted ScreenFlow user, and an active member of Telestream’s “ScreenFlow Discussion” website forum with concerns for how the company collects our user feedback there. As individuals post ideas to the Telestream forum, there is no good way for ScreenFlow’s owners to quantify interest in the ideas we all share, short of tallying duplicate posts and our “good idea!” follow-ups.

The new ScreenFlow feature request portal at http://screenflow.scrast.net is based on crowdsourcing (think: Digg, Wikipedia). Instead of individuals receiving a hollow “it’s been added to the wish list” response from the forum moderator, users at the http://screenflow.scrast.net portal will see their idea validated by the rest of the ScreenFlow community. Telestream will see what’s foremost on the minds of ScreenFlow users and, if the developers are responsive, we’ll have a better ScreenFlow in subsequent versions.

I am not a huge ScreenFlow user, although I do use it from time to time, so felt that I wasn’t really in a position to share any thoughts with other users. What I was intrigued by though was the professional way that they were going about trying to promote the portal, and the concept of the portal itself so I thought I would post something about it in the hope that it encouraed more advanced users to get involved.
