More than 65,000 people have taken action against the use of caged-rabbit meat in UK pet food. If you haven’t already done so, will you add your name to our petition?
Last year we launched our campaign calling on UK retailers to remove caged rabbit meat from their pet food products. Annually, the meat from 300,000 caged rabbits is imported to the UK from Europe. The rabbits spend their entire lives in cramped wire cages, barely able to move. And they remain in these cages until they are sent to the slaughterhouse.
Join us in saying NO to the use of caged-rabbit meat in UK pet food.
Pet owners and general members of the public were shocked to find out that the food they were feeding their pets was linked to such horrific cruelty. Thanks to the overwhelming support of the public, we are very happy to announce that Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, ASDA and Pets at Home have agreed to remove rabbit meat products from their pet food ranges.
This is a great start but there is still a lot to be done. We call on the remaining UK retailers to follow suit and stop using rabbits imported from these dreadful conditions. Hopefully, with your help, we can remove caged-rabbit meat from UK shelves once and for all.
