It is however a book that any self respecting, cricket loving, Yorkshireman should own, and so I have a copy (gift from my father) that I dip into from time to time.
Being honest I suspect an insomniac may find it useful.
I mean that fondly as it really is a solid piece of work, but as any fellow Wisden fan will (hopefully) tell you, the dry factual style can be tough to wade through in a long sitting.
The book gives a great overall picture of the mighty Yorkshire and Headingley and of course the greats that have represented the county, and so very often the country as well.
If we had a coffee table this book would sit on it, but we don’t so it sits in the office where it is regularly picked up and thumbed through while I have a cup of Yorkshire Tea.
