I blogged about iPhone Modem before so thought I would let you know about the recent update:
We have launched today a new update to iPhoneModem – version 2.2.
iPhone, Mac and Windows versions should be update to benefit from:
– improved logging functionality
– new user Interface for the Windows helper application
– revised WiFi handling on Windows
– rewritten notification engine solving connection problems between iPhone and desktop on some scenarios
– better “Disconnect” functionality closing current WiFi connection and restoring previous settings.
The new version should solve all problems of connectivity between the computer and the iPhone. Communication is much faster and “Bonjour” is no longer necessary.
Because of the revised connectivity engine, iPhoneModem 2.2 requires updated helper tools on the Mac or PC, so you need to update on the iPhone and on the computer.
It’s christmas and iPhoneModem update 2.2 is free for all registered users.
I used iPhone Modem successfully until the 2.2 upgrade… now it doesn’t work at all on my MacBook. Just a warning to other potential upgraders.
Ouch!!! Doesn’t the new version work on 2.2? Looks like the unlock will be a straight download from Cydia, so will be upgrading and jailbreaking to 2.2 anyday now 🙂
I have paid the program and the program doesnt work as it seems to in the tutorials, could you tell me something about that. Im making just everything that you tell step by step and iphone says wrong wifi network and the mac say waiting for iphone

It worked after disintalling PDA Net and after having installed Isomnia…
Really, that is weird to say the least!!!
To be honest I have gone down the PDANet route and am very impressed. Find it easier to use and better in that no socket involved so have access to all the applications I want to use on line.
When do you intend to submit a new version that solves the connection problem between Macs and Iphone. I was very pleased of the previous version. And as you are aware the last versions prevents the connection… Or may be you can provide old version?

My shout: big sh.. ! hundred of users payed and can´t use it, i guess. And the developer don´t even answer any mail. I could switch to another app for that job but I´d like to kick their ……
