Product Review: Playeroo Junior Clothing

A much debated topic within cricket and one which No Boundaries Cricket Club are seeking to help through their Cricket Kindness Project is the cost of playing cricket: specifically is it expensive because you need so much kit and equipment, or because the kit and equipment costs a lot.

I thought that I would get hold of some ‘entry level’ shoesglovespadsclothing and a bag to do a mini series of reviews to see just how expensive junior kit and equipment is and what you get for your money.

Having reviewed the items they will be donated to Church Eaton Cricket Club to be used by their juniors.

My Review

Trousers RRP: £25.99 Available for £12.99

Shirt RRP: £22.99 Available for £13.99

Playing Kit is a bit of a strange one: the majority of clubs now have their own online Club Stores. NBCC use Masuri, which I love and I wear for NBCC, Church Eaton and Birmingham Unicorn games (even though Unicorns and Church Eaton have their own kit I a) prefer to promote NBCC and b) can’t face having a kit for every team I play for! Staffordshire Seniors use Duncan Fearnley which I dislike with a passion, but it would be wrong not to wear as representing the County (although I think they could at least pay for it), so it is very likely that you wont be ‘in control’ of your decision. (For the record I also have a set of Gray-Nicolls kit that I wear if I play for the XL Club).

The Playeroo kit is very good, both in terms of quality and value, especially with some online stores like All Rounder Cricket offering 50% off (they are the sole suppliers), with sizes available from ages 7-8yrs up to 3XL adults. It is basically an ‘own brand’ of the excellent Adidas Clothing Range, so you really can’t go wrong.

Oh to be that young again eh!
Light, breathable, soft and I suspect very comfortable as well.
You will certainly look the part, and feel comfortable.

About The Review

Reviews will always identify whether the product has been bought for my own use, gifted for my own use, or sent for review. I will keep items I have bought or been gifted. Items sent for review once reviewed will be donated to No Boundaries Cricket Club.

Reviews will always be my personal, unbiased, opinion based on my experience of the product and my own abilities. The reality is that most of the time I will not warrant the quality of product being reviewed, but what can I say, I like “stuff” especially “good quality stuff” so that is all there is to say on the matter!!

Reviews will include the list price and where applicable the price paid, a link to the source of the product and the manufacturer and where available manufacturer published product information. If a manufacturer or seller has asked me to publish a special discount or offer I will make this clear.

If you have a question or opinion please leave it in the comments below and I will reply.

We will write a Featured Review for a donation of £25 to No Boundaries Cricket Club and this will be CLEARLY categorised as a Featured Post.
